My only thing about Lightwave is price and scalability. Lightwave Core is said to run on Linux(virtualization?) as well as on mac. I agree about v9. I also run Swift 3D which will not run on 9. Set me back a bit with one of my projects (www.timharrisinteractive.com), but I wa able to adjust the lighting to recreate the desired cell shading effect. Thanks for the comment an I hope you continue to read my blog!

I hate NewTek because they managed to destroy Lightwave totally with 9 series. Why the hell did they overwrite it. Now even features that worked fine until 8.5 are nonfunctional or work sort of. So this is reason I do not put high expectations for LW Core. I have been Lightwave user for more than 15 years, but now thinking about switching to something professional - obviously the choice will be Maya.

Hostpartment is the WORST! A little more background. We had a reseller account with them and had our sites down for over 2 days at least 2 times! They used to have their servers in California and were just operating support, etc out of NJ but then they decided to move the servers to NJ. Yeah, that was one of the 2 days of outages as the trucks moved the servers across the country. 99% uptime is a joke.. it was more like 40%. NO JOKE!

I had to involve ICANN to move a registration (DNS) from Host Department. When my hosting comes up for renewal I'm going to another provider.

I too have been down for 25+ days. I was able to get two of my domain names transfered from them. I opened a support ticket and selected "domain support" as who it goes to. In the ticket I listed the new name servers I wanted it directed too. They never answered back, but the domain was moved within 4 hours. Now if I can download my files from the site so I can rebuild it.

Word has it they switched service companies, and the old one launched a denial of service attack on them. They stated they were installing new firewall hardware and would be back up in 24 hours. That was 2 weeks ago.
