What luck we find ourselves in. Worst economy in centuries, corruption abound, yet somehow President Obama finds 100 million dollars under a matress somewhere to give to Haiti. What I just can’t wrap my head around is the why. Why give a poor country money? What is the significance? A report came out which documented that 60 percent of the Haitian capital was built poorly. How is it that the American public can feel comfortable subsidizing such poor judgement. Oh wait – this debate is starting to sound very familiar.
Republicans and Democrats can unite when It comes to subsidizing third world countries, but when it comes to providing our very own with the greatest healthcare on Earth – forget about it! I love this country. I love how our populace is so easily manipulated under crisis and duress. Forget the debate, America. When politicians say divide, we divide. When they say unite, we unite. It’s bizarre, though, because if the media were not around I am sure that my neighbor and I would actually be able to make a reasonable solution for the problems at hand without even feeling pressured to unite or divide. Yet television, radio, church, and other forms of propaganda manage to polarize each and every one of us. At no time do people wake up and smell the coffee. Forgot what the “qualified” have to say, what do you think? Can you formulate an opinion on your own instead of retreating to bias and the status quo?
Take your time by the way. The way things are now, we got plenty of monopoly money to hand out while you make up your mind.
